Lebron, Kobe, or MJ
How do you rank Lebron, Kobe, or MJ?
That’s a great question. I’ll provide my biases first.
Kobe – I’m a “Kobe Hater.”
LeBron – I’ve been a fan since I watched him play as a junior in high school.
MJ – A champion in every sense of the word.
Kobe vs His Airness
Kobe had a chance to be better than Jordan. MJ had the charisma to keep Scottie Pippen playing second fiddle to him for the bulk of his career. Pippen could very easily have been in the top ten greatest players of all time but was able to stay MJ’s teammate. Kobe didn’t have the personality to keep Shaq on his team. If he did, he could have possibly outdone Jordan. It’s variables like that which make Jordan my clear favorite over Kobe.
Kobe vs Lebron
Lebron has never been on trial. Advantage Lebron
Lebron vs MJ
This is like when the Super Fans had to debate the Da Bulls vs Da Bears.
Lebron has the potential to be the next Air Jordan. Air Jordan was Air Jordan. Advantage MJ.
Michael Jordan hangs out with Tiger Woods. Lebron hangs out with Jay Z. Advantage MJ.

Re: Lebron, Kobe, or MJ
I look at it like this: if you have just a few seconds on the clock, your down by one, and you need someone to come through which one would your rather have on your team...
For me...I would take MJ anyday, then Kobe, and then Lebron. When it comes to big moments no one was better than Michael....when the game was on the line he put the whole team on his back and rarely did not pull through. I don't think people give players like K. Malone and Stockton enough credit...Utah could have won the NBA title in many years...but they had to face the best....that's how could MJ and company were.
I think I might be looking at this a little differently though if Shaq would have stayed with the Lakers....how many more titles could they have won in LA with the Kobe/Shaq duo? It still would be hard to beat out MJ.

Re: Lebron, Kobe, or MJ
(I'm a Laker fan.)
All 3 are awesome.
Kobe is a better jump shooter than all of them, right now. (Great defender, really good passer, crazy clutch, pretty good rebounder, good steal guy)
Mike was the best Guard I ever saw in the paint, and was really good n the post from mid to late career. (Great defender, good passer, super-uber-clutch, pretty good rebounder, good steal guy)
But I think Lebron will be the best ever. He is like Michael, Magic, and a (Barkley/Malone) all rolled into one. Lebron is already a better rebounder than the rest. And his shot has really improved, the man just works! I think in a year or 2 he could be close to averaging triple-doubles for the season!

Did anyone see Lebron make the game winning three from the in bounds pass tonight....Wow! Reminded me of Jordan.

No, I missed it. I guess that means it is time to turn on Sportscenter. I guess the Magic rallied back.

Re: Lebron, Kobe, or MJ
I pretty much went crazy last night when that went in. It validated the postseason NBA slogan "Where will Amazing Happen this Year?" I wish I was in Cleveland last night!
What's great about the LJ vs KB vs MJ debate, is the debate will go on for at least another 40 years. Well, as long as Lebron wins at least 3 titles in his career. If he wins 2 or less, he'll drop out of the debate.

All three are great players, if I picked among them I like Mike. If I pick all time among everyone, I go with Oscar Robinson and I don't think twice about my pick.

I'm younger Spence, but I believe I think more like you...I'll take Magic Johnson. I like the guy that makes everyone clearly better All The Time. Not just because they attract much attention, but setting up the offense and getting guys ay-ups, dunks, and wide open mid-range jumpers, and 3's. I'm older and fat...out of shape, and haven't played hardly at all for 14 years...and I found out today I can still hit a good portion of open jumpers. Everyone is good wide open!
When you played guys like Magic and the Big O, you are playing too many open guys...simple as that!
But I do think Lebron could be one Hell of a passer in 2 years.

I'll take Michael Jordan any day of the week. Right now, I think Kobe is better than LeBron, but you have to factor in the fact that LeBron is only what, 24 years old right now?

Re: Lebron, Kobe, or MJ
The impact Jordan had on the game was so great LeBron and Kobe are barely out of the starting blocks in comparison.

Re: Lebron, Kobe, or MJ
Mike was huge...and the hype was even greater. He did change the game@ But every player is different.
Did Mike ever score 81? Lebron will have more triple-doubles. (Mike has 27, Lebron has 24.)

So if you score 81? Guess Chamberlain is the greatest.

I agree. Kobe and Lebron have a long way to go to be like Mike. As far as impact on the game goes, Julius Irving probably had more then anyone. He completely changed the way the game was played.

So did Wilt! (I though about him Donovan! I think he doesn't get enough credit. Or Jerry West either.) And Kareem changed the game too! ANd just to get it in I thought Karl Malone was one smooth big man. I love that 16 footer he had (especially the way he brought the ball up and released...one smooth sweeping motion.)

James not shaking the hands of the Magic after the game, in my opinion will make him very forgettable.
