I see WVU locked up RR tighter than Loiusville's Defense. Through 2013.
Can't we do a lifetime contract?

Weat Virginia will have RR until he retires or until the NFL comes calling. He is an innovator and the NFL loves that about him.

Yeah that is my fear!
But I'll thank him when he leaves, he has done us fans and the University a huge service.

And that is exactly what you should do. He has given WVU things they never had before. If he wishes to move on you should thank him. The worst thing you can do is try to hold him back.

Agreed. Others often fail to see that.
Don't get me wrong, I would have fought to keep him here for this year and another 1 or 2. But when the cat gets too big for the cage!
If people want to worry about the future then make sure he has a protege' on staff to step in when the time is right!

No need to worry. When the program is right then the coach is right. RR may or may not leave. He likes WVU, I know that, the call to the NFL may be too great, it may not be. THe only thing you know for sure is that he did a great job when he was there. That is all you can ask.

Re: Dub Ya Vee You News
I love the guy and he hasn't been in place that long.
Only thing I'm not at all comfortable with is his teaching his offense to SO many people. I love teaching so I can understand the appeal, but if I went over and helped other companies Re-Engineer their product I'd be in it deep! Even if I helped them solve issues on a product that didn't compete with one of ours.
My thing is in football the more you see it the easier it is to stop! But Rich ain't stupid either so maybe his teaching isn't quite what others and I might perceive.

Re: Dub Ya Vee You News
I know a guy who played for RR at glenville state. He was RR guest at the game Saturday and gets game film on high school recruits for him in southern Ohio. He says RR is a class act. I believe that. He may leave WVU for the NFL, but it would have to be a plum job, IMO. I think you guys keep him for a while, he seems to enjoy what he does at this level.

Actually I think he likes it at WVU and I on't believe he will leave any time soon. Still he is just the kind of coach the NFL loves. He is an innovator. So it wouldn't be a surpise to me if he did leave. He would never leave with the cupboard dry, though, so I wouldn't worry much.

Re: Dub Ya Vee You News
Yeah he may leave one day but he won't abandon WVU. He'll leave something, and if he goes pro then the coach he leaves behind can still talk shop with him.
We just need 3 more years of what we've had the last 3. That will get WVU up to the elite level where recrutiing is a bit easier, getting Alumni Cash is easier, and getting Pollster votes is also a bit easier.
