Yeah ...

There was simply too much of a miss match up front. The D-Line for the Irish just kept beating that Bulldog wall most of the game.

Oh well ...

Here's to the Nittany Lions.

I don’t see James Franklin beating them. Penn State’s offense will have a lot of issues trying to fend off that defense. That isn’t a Franklin strength.

Yeah, that was a terrible game. It's a lot to ask of a kid to start a game like that. But he did well, and I'm hopeful for next year.

And Cane, brace yourself for Carson Beck at miami....it might be happening.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Things I've been hearing; Beck wont be arm ready for Spring Practices ...

The injury recovery time will take him beyond those early camps. It's certainly something to think about for the school who picks him up. You want your QB1 to gel with the 1rst team before the summer break.

There are quite a few reports saying Beck to Miami. His girlfriend is on the Hurricanes Women's Basketball team.

Other whispers, are that there is another name who might enter the portal, that is still playing. {tomorrow night}

There's talk that a certain Lone Star guy under center might forgo the draft, and the team is looking to pass the torch to the next man up.

It's a lot of speculation, right now.

I'll say this. Whomever Miami picks up; you can bet there's at least one QB from the portal, for depth, if nothing else. It will be someone with experience, that can earn the starting job, without a guarantee.

The big question marks are coming after the Pop-Tarts Bowl, whether Williams is truly read to take the position.

Luke Nickel is coming in behind him, here. And many are saying he's a guy to lookout for. Cam Newton had pretty high praise of Nikel in an on field interview.

Cam Newton: When Luke Nikel do his job, there ain't a quarterback in the country that's better than him.

That's something to hear, from one of the all time greats.

Even more so, what Miami has in the next recruiting cycle is really gonna pop some eyeballs.

2026 Recruit, Dereon Coleman, is already turning heads. And private quarterback coaches are saying this kid has something special.

Baylin Trujillo, a QB coach, who's not only seen 42 of his guys go Div-1, also has current players he mentored in the nfl, and coached 3 of the top 10 QB's in the 2026 class. He says that Dereon Coleman is the best arm talent that he's ever trained.

Cam Ward broke all of Miami's single season records. What I'm hearing, is Coleman could do that and more. They're touting him as a potential 3 year starter. Which tells me he could RedShirt a year, if Nikel turns out to be as good as advertised.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Beck or {Burnt Orange} come in to start the year, while Nikel steps in to play cleanup duty [assuming the defense ever gets their act together]. Then the next season, we see if QB competition heats up with Nikel & Coleman, or the season after, should Dereon RS.

Right now, though. We need a competent Defensive Coordinator who can turn things around in his first year. Since we just sent the last guy out the door.

You think Quinn might transfer? A lot of Texas fans I hear from on social media would like to see him go so they can start Manning.

Maybe I'm saying too much ...

But what I've heard, is Ewers' nfl projection was less than where he'd like. And that he's being projected as a late 2cnd to mid 3rd round take.

Likewise, I hear Beck declared for the draft, and pulled his name when he got his stock number in the late 3rd to early 4th round.

People have been rather quiet in Ewers' camp. However, you are right. The Texas fans [and Boosters] want to move ahead with Manning.

If they both transfer [Beck of course already entered the Portal], the NIL package on either one is going to be absurd. It'll take a program with a lot of $$$$$$$ to secure their services.

Cam Ward declared from the nfl draft in the last cycle, and he heard the same things about his rating. He pulled out of the draft before the cutoff date [Jan 15th], and landed at Miami, improving his value.

If Beck & Ewers are getting the same news, then a place like Miami, who needs QB depth, would look very inviting.

Then again, one of them could land at a place like Alabama or Ole Miss, and put up massive numbers.

Milroe declared for the draft last week. Whereas, Jaxson Dart has played out his eligible years, and we're now waiting on whether they petition for him to gain one more season, or if he'll enter the draft.

We know for certain, those schools have the propensity to shell out needed funds to fulfill their roster needs.

Well, never mind ...

I just checked in to my leads, and Beck is going to Miami.

What that means for Ewers, now, could be interesting.

I also was told, that when Beck made his decision to transfer, there was no chance for him to go to another SEC program.

Okay, so, we know a little more about the `Canes QB situation for next season.

Just be aware, the numbers being thrown around are from people who are making claims that Beck wouldn't settle for less than what he was receiving at Georgia.

In truth, as a private institution, Miami does not disclose NIL negotiations or deals.

Most of what you hear is speculation.

And when numbers are spoken about, matter of factually, they are assumed guesstimates.

I know that Ward, as a one year & out, was estimated at around $1.2 million, with NIL promotions not directly linked to the school.

I'm hard pressed to believe Carson Beck is going to take in $4 million for a single season coming off of an elbow injury.

His skill set does not match what Ward's did. So for him to pull in nearly $3 million more seems quite a bit far fetched.

The truth is no one really knows what the truth is. They were making a big deal of Ohio State's NIL number 20 million, but that wasn't in new player money. That was to keep the team together. We got 4 players from the outside. They were 4 pretty good players, but the rest was just updating in house numbers. From what I hear, that isn't the highest. I also heard Michigan just ponied up $10 million for a QB. The big problem I see in all of this, in the NFL it is the owner's money. They can spend it how they please. In the colleges there is no owner so they just spend to get what they want. Until the NIL donors aka boosters quit boosting.

My two cents worth……

It’s a Seller’s Market……. and there’s a third party involved in these ‘Agents’ promoting, marketing and selling these players. I suspect many of the numbers we’re hearing and reading about are being ‘leaked’ by ‘Agents’ trying to set the market and gain for themselves a larger fee. They simply ‘leak’ it out or call up some ‘sportswriter’ who gets paid by some ‘publisher’ who gets paid by ‘breaking the story’ whether it’s true or not.

As much as I’ve supported and enjoyed College Athletics in the past, it’s developing a stench that smells more and more like Skunk Piss every day.

that's a very plausible theory. Reminds me of the housing market last year.
