Pretty convincing case huh Donovan??
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.
The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

At least Bowl games can only go up from here. Boise State looked good, Oregon did not. Oregon capitalized all their points in about 5 minutes total time. Next year people will only remember the win.
Big Loser...Florida State. Oregon was not a prepared team and that has to fall squarely on Taggart's shoulders. I have watched Oregon play a lot this year. They were mediocre at best. Boise State not much better.
Looking forward to some good football later in the month.

Good lord what a horrible game. Oregon and BSU should be prohibited from any future meetings. They each bring out the worst from the other. Not a great first game for Cristobal but then it wasn't for Kelly either and the next season he took his team to the Rose Bowl.

"The final score was polite. Wasn't that close. And the outcome raised a pile of reasonable questions about just-hired Ducks coach Mario Cristobal and the program he now must lead. But what isn't debatable is whether Oregon wanted to be in this bowl game. It didn't. Anyone who watched the "Men of Oregon" play understood that the Ducks were a splintered and distracted mess that treated the event like an exhibition. "

Doovan was right and I was sure wrong...the Ducks came with no quack...

I guess I should have had Oregon figured when Stanford blew them out by 42 points...and Washington by 35...

I like Rypien. He is a good QB. Boise State jumped out early being physical and then to advantage of some mistakes. They played well.

I was suckered into the hype myself. After Herbert returned, they seemed to be flying high again. There is something about Boise State that just brings out the worst in Oregon which I think is weird. Boise State is not a rival. Washington is but whatever rancor exists around that historic enmity is confined to the fanbase and does not show up in the games. With Boise State the opposite is the case.

I thought Oregon had been showing signs of improving. It felt as if they were ready to start playing at the level we have been accustom to seeing --- even still, I was leaning on taking Boise State in my picks.
Then I read Old Ducker's post about Herbert, and figured, he knows what he's talking about; all of the momentum they seem to have is because they are playing at a higher level with the key they needed for success ... yep, I bought into the Hype, too ... which is really sad, as it was second hand Hype passed on by Old Ducker.
Oh well, I'm only 2 of 5 so far ... at least Spence & Donovan are right there with me.

Wow Boise State just let Oregon get back in, two straight possessions with a defensive TD.

Well, those were two miscalculations by Boise. The first was more ridiculous, because they were up by 24 points, and really, there was no need to attempt a gimmick play inside the 5 yard line.
The second, was simply a great read by the defensive back. This is the sort of thing that makes me smile. I played Corner, so it was kind of Wax Nostalgia for me. Whenever you get your hands on the ball, with green in front of you ... yes, that's an exhilarating moment. Just grab and go!
I never took one from end zone to end zone. But I did cross the goal line a few ... like Trajan Bandy vs Notre Dame at then end of the 2cnd quarter
Anyhow; This game really came down to Oregon's inability to protect the quarterback. If Herbert would have had more time to throw the ball, this game likely would have been much closer. Possibly, Oregon even wins. All the credit for this victory should go to Boise's Defense. They spent most of their time playing in Oregon's backfield.

The Ducks did what they could to try and sneak back into it. But, their inability to get the ball into the Broncos territory until half way through the 3rd quarter stung their momentum.
