Obama is President

Postby ..fanatic » Wed Nov 05, 2008 2:28 am

I'm going to throw up. Morons run amock.

One of the greatest military heroes of our time gets defeated by a anti-American socialist/marxist who thinks we have 57+ states and that our economy works best when it works best from the ground up.

And the dems thought Bush was dumb?????

2 seconds after submitting this, I expect the "Don't Say Nothin' Bad About Obama" police to bust down my door and arrest me.

I seriously feel sick to my stomach.

I still have confidence in American people, though. I think this is more a punishment of Republican leadership over the last 8 years or so. Never mind the role that Chris Dodd and Barney Frank played in the economy, IT'S BUSH'S FAULT.

Once Jimmy Carter Part Deux's presidency comes to a screeching halt, the people will elect Romney in 2012 and be done with it. I hope

It is the Republican's fault for forgeting their values and responsibilities when they got implanted into Washington. They had a chance to really change how things were done in this country and instead they started doing what the Democrats had done for years. I hope people really start holding their representitives feet to the fire. If they don't live up to what they say they stand for we need to kick them out.

I agree with all comments!

Fanatic, we may be lacking in teeth over in WV but we have some sense...and acreage available!

I'm going to support Obama as I want to see him use that yapper to get something done! I think he will be a better President than Senator...you don't have to vote when you are the President!

that's kinda the problem folks...you can't vote "Present" on an issue. You are the decision maker, no time for waffling. That's why you have the launch codes, no time for voting on that stuff.

It may be evident but it will be denied and spun on.

Something I can't get over.

Massachusetts carries 12 electoral votes. The same amount Montana, Wyoming, S. Dakota, and n. Dakota have cummulatively.

Mass: 10,555 sq.mi. Pop: 6,449,755

Mont: 147,046 sq.mi. Pop: 957,861
Wyo: 97,818 sq.mi. Pop: 796,214
SD: 77,121 sq.mi. Pop: 639,715
ND: 70,704 sq.mi. Pop: 522,830
Total: 392,689 sq.mi. Pop: 2,916,620

37 times the land area and 45% of the population of Mass.

It seems to me that population is too highly rewarded. People are to be obedient to laws, land is obedient to laws, and laws tell a guy what he can and can't do with and on his land.

Maybe it is just me!

I think population should be how you get represented. The representitives are representing people not land. It would just be better if people were smarter.

Then we shouldn't have property taxes. And we shouldn't pay income tax. To me supporting the government (paying taxes) should be the link to voting.

If you don't pay taxes you should not get to vote!

Except that the consititution doesn't support that idea. I don't think you should vote on issues pertaining to property tax unless you own property either, but that isn't in the cards in this country. I fight back by voting no on all issues that raise my taxes. I don't care how good the issue seems. If everyone did that politicians would get the message that we are serious about reigning in spending. Then we could take a step in the right direction.

The constitution does not mention voting, or the "right" to vote. It only says that voting cannot be denied to you by skin color, gender, and so forth.

It does not even make mention of a "popular" vote for President. You can't find it.

Property taxes aren't collected by the federal government they are collected by the state governments and implemented by the people. The provision you discribe is the provision that forbids the states to limit that right to only property owners. The federal government doesn't have the right to collect any property tax from the people.

But they're not - they've become increasingly dumber. In this election, they took a gun to a knife fight and shot themsleves in the head. The electorate was uncertain about the economy, so they elected a president they are uncertain about.

When did the economy start going south? Right after the dems took over the house and senate.

Here's what those who voted for Obama should know. There is no chance in hell that the middle and upper classes will be better off in the next four years under Obama than they were for the past four years under Bush. And if the middle and upper class can't get better, than the lower class doesn't have anywhere to go. They'll get a thousand bucks in the mail from the government, but that won't do them a bit of good in the long run.

I can not wish Obama well. I hope he fails so miserably that the mean-spirited dems get kicked out of office with the least possible amount of damage done. That may sound un-American, but I mean it to sound quite the contrary. American values, the constitution, our military might, and our free-market nature of letting the people succeed or fail at their own risk, are all in jeopardy.

Obama's ideology is a rehash of the past failures of other countries. We need to fight at the polls to protect what America is. Anyone who wants to live like the French or the Canadians can load up a truck and move there.

Thank you, West Virginia, for making the right choice. I'm very disappointed in my old home state of Virginia, and my current state of Florida. At least the county I live in went 55% for McCain and Republicans won every election they were in at every level of government.

For anyone who wants to argue that I'm a blind republican loyalist - I'm been a registered democrat all of my life. I should probably change that, though, as my eyes are wide open and have been for several years. The dems don't have a chance in hell of getting my vote for any office until they stop their wimpy whining and "me first with the hand-outs" mindset.
