Sean Taylor Dies

Postby BYUfan1 » Tue Nov 27, 2007 8:20 am

Sean Taylor, a Washington Redskins safety, has died a day after being shot at home. He was 24 years old. He was shot in the upper leg early Monday, damaging an artery and causing significant blood loss. Doctors thought he was getting better when he squeezed a nurse's hand, but he never regained consciousness after being airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

It was the second time in about a week the Taylor's home was broken into. Miami-Dade police are investigating if there is any correlation between the two incidents.

This is a sad, as all of these happenings are. There is as side, though it does not diminish the hurt of suffering, that is noteworthy. Sean Taylor was rebellious. He was a non conformist to the rules of the NFL. He was constantly in trouble. He skipped the mandatory rookie meeting where subjects of how to deal with fame were discussed. He was fined....He missed mandatory meetings of Coach Gibbs. He was involved in several brushes with he law in Florida. If you do not want to slip...then do not go where it is slippery. As sad as this is...it may have been preventable, maybe not...but the price to try and prevent it is minimal compared to the other choice.

I agree. I'm not sure that the two have anything to do with one another in this case. Anyway it is sad. What is even more sad is that for every Shawn Taylor that you here about there is several more that don't even make the news anymore.

It is sad. But donovan is completely correct, it was preventable. We don't know exactly what happened, but we can see his track record (fruits), and know that it was probably related to some trouble/bad choices.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

It was reported that someone broke into his house. It could have been someone he knew or it could have been random. They haven't released the info yet. It is a leap, though, at this point to say that it wasn't random. He did make some bad choices and it is possible that his shooting had to do with those choices. I guess at this point it doesn't matter. It is too late for him to learn a lesson, if he did get shot due to bad choices.

Word is from what I've read that he cleaned up his act once his daughter was born. But even so, it is tremendously sad that a life is ended so soon. :(

Lots of times even if you do choose to clean up your life some associations are hard to get away from. He should have left South Florida.

Something fishy about the whole situation....why would the intruder choose to shoot him between the legs?

Taylor's close friend, Rolle (plays for Arizona) says that he did not believe one minute that this was a burglary. He said that Taylor had a lot of people that did not like him in Florida and that Taylor feared for his life everytime he was in Florida

I did not know this guy from Adam but I watched him play football and he was a cheap shot kind of guy on the football field....from spitting into peoples faces to late hits, etc.

I do feel bad for his little girl that has to grow up without a father.
