Louisville won the last of the great BE Tournament in spectacular fashion. After a terrible start in the first half they fell behind by 16 early in the second half to Syracuse. Then a switch turned and UL staged a furious comeback in the next five minutes scoring 29 points to Syracuse's 3 taking a big lead and coasting to a 17 point win to grab the trophy. A 31 point swing in the second half

This should insure UL a #1 seed somewhere in the NCAA.

I will acutally watch Selection Sunday's show which I normally avoid.

Getting the #1 overall seed again gives the Cards some 'almost' homecourt advantage. They will start play in nearby Lexington Thursday. With UK not even getting in the tournament, I expect the Lexington crowd to be double hostile. Then if they win the games there it's on to nearby Indianapolis, again a short drive. This is a favorable draw as UL has had in 5 or 6 years.

I would agree. I'm not believing that Duke has a shot against Louisville. In that region, the Saint Louis Billikens would be the team to be concerned about. If Louisville gets past the Billikens, imo, they would go against New Mexico. The Lobos could give them a really good fight, but the Cards would win.

Man, I had a great weekend of sitting on my sofa and doing absolutely nothing but watch tournament action. This is going to be hard to believe, but I somehow went 26-6 for the first round and I picked Florida Gulf Coast over Georgetown for the yearly "upset special" that never seems to happen until this year. This was the second time I ever picked a 15 over a 2. My previous highest upset I had ever gotten right was 13 Murray State over 4 Vanderbilt in 2010.

I picked Wichita State, Indiana, Florida, and Louisville for my Final Four with Louisville beating Indiana in the finals. I'm sure my bracket will get destroyed Saturday and Sunday

It's certainly been an unpredictable tournament so far. Louisville has turned in two dominating performances so far; and, is on the way to the 2nd home site at Indy next week for the Sweet 16. If they stay this focused I'm not sure anyone can keep up with them.

Colorado State tried to be physical; but, just could not match up. Louisville kept the pressure on the whole game until the last 38 seconds generating 20 turnovers against Co.St. while committing 9 themselves. And, they slighly outrebounded (29-27) the best (?) rebounding team in the country according to what I heard. Final score was 82-56 (26 points) just under the 30 local boards were predicting.

We'll be playing Oregon next week.

I'm waiting to see who wins between Creighton/Duke hoping the Dukies get downed and I get to see cussing, gimaces, nasty looks from crybaby-shefski when the refs don't give them 25 more free throw fouls than the other team. He is one sore loser. and, I like to watch it.

So far, I was right about one prediction: My bracket was going to get destroyed. I had Wichita over Gonzaga which was really nice, but I misfired on Butler (Elite 8 ), Cal, Saint Louis, and VCU. So basically there were five tossup games and I went 1-4. Sounds like something I would pick

Final Four still in tact though, so I'll take it. I really thought Colorado State would push Louisville a bit harder even though I feel like the Mountain West is the most overrated basketball conference I've ever seen. #1 in RPI? Besides the fact that they have maybe one terrible basketball team which makes their average RPI high, the top teams were criminally overseeded while teams like Oregon get placed on the 12 line, probably 6 spots beneath where they should be. UNLV should have been a 9, Colorado State's rank was appropriate, San Diego State is probably closer to a 10 seed, New Mexico should have been a 6 seed, and Boise State shouldn't have been invited to the tournament.

For all the logic they come up with it seems to me they simply throw darts at a board so they can quickly get to the booze and the babes popping out of cakes.

Well, one more good win and UL eases into the Elite 8. Toughest game so far; and, our defense was not as solid as normal but credit the Ducks for that with good preparation. Our offense which has been kinda ordinary but it has come alive in the BE tournament and even more in the NCAA.

I can't decide who I'd like to meet next. I'd like revenge on Duke who beat us preseason without our big man. Or Mi. St. who we've split with the last two years in the tournament.

I had Louisville and Indiana in the final game with Louisville winning. It sounds like I did ok, but Louisville was really one of my few good choices. I like basketball ok, I just don't follow close enough to have a well informed opinion.


The Michigan-Kansas game was a really good game, except can someone tell me why Kansas doesn't put Michigan on the line up three with very little time on the clock at the end of regulation?

Oregon had a never give up team and pushed UL the closest so far in the tournaments. I was wondering why UL did not wear them out more in the second half as they have done to most other teams.

Part of the reason is that Oregon was a tough, well prepared, never give up team. And it was a fast paced game.

In post-game comments from the UL team it also turns out many of them were suffering from colds and could not themselves step up the pace in the second half. I hope they are getting heavy treatments for this as Sunday it will be Duke again and maybe the toughest game yet. Duke beat us in a preseason tournament after our big man, Gorgue Deing, was out with an injury; and, still we could have won then.

Horrible injury to Kevin Ware, leg broke in two spots. Laying injured on the floor he kept saying, "I'll be OK, win this game".

Louisville literally destroyed Duke after about a 5 minute shakey period in the 2nd half. Hard to focus after seeing something like that bone sticking out.

Back to the Final Four for the second straight time. Notice, they did not cut down the BE nets, and, they did not cut down the regional final nets. They want the Final Four nets as champion.
