Defending National Champs Louisville opened the new season with a 105-67 pounding of division II Kentucky Wesleyan College in the Yum Center last night.
The new, ticky-tack hand check rule was disastrous for KWC in the first half and eventually ended with 5 members of that team fouling out. This will prove difficult for many teams to adopt to at first. Coach Petino said he has been through this at the pro level and eventually everyone will catch on.
looks like the rule is aimed at boosting the offense. And, I am sure the refs will back off some as the season wears on.

Re: 2013 season begins
Like so many sports, infractions happen on every play and every one on one. Being an official is tough and the no harm no foul mentality leave so much up to the official and no one likes that. Looks like you are headed for another good season. Good luck.
