Notre Dame vs FSU

Postby billybud » Mon Dec 05, 2011 2:04 pm

Looked at Notre Dame hard this morning. They may be better than their 8-4 record. Three of their losses are to teams in the current AP Top 15.

The Irish have a great receiver in Michael Floyd and a good passing game. Pass defense has been the weakest link in the FSU defense.

I am hopeful that FSU will be able to put pressure on the QB...give him time and he will beat you.

I think Florida State's best chance at winning is to cause turnovers. Or, just have Notre Dame implode in the turnover margin themselves. Tommy Rees has a knack for screwing up at inopportune times. Notre Dame would be 10-2 (at least) if he could minimize the mistakes. I think it'll be a close game either way (I went with Notre Dame at 10 points, not a 10-point pick but I had to due to the other close games on the board :D ).

That is right. Notre Dame's QB does make some silly mistakes, even without pressure. Notre Dame's defense can be had if you can have some quick turn arounds on defense. They score 20 points a game, but the games where the offense is limited their defense has a tough time.

Notre Dame always gets into a better bowl game than they deserve. Just look at their recent bowl record. FSU should not have a problem. Great draw.

I think this year the caliber bowl matches the caliber team. 8-4 with losses to Michigan, USC, and Stanford with one upset against USF. Wins against Michigan State, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Purdue, and Wake Forest. Not a terrible resume IMO.

Because the have the largest most spread out fan base of any team in America. Football people do not like Notre Dame because they don't follow the rules. Of course it is all right for the BCS/ESPN/SEC/KFC to make up the rules as they go along. I

Notre Dame brings in the bucks, certainly the folks at SEC Central can understand that. Maybe they are just ticked they didn't get all the mashed potatoes.

I resent the fact that you think KFC makes up their own rules. I like KFC. :D

Depends on where you get it. I like sweet slaw. I don't care much for sweet tea. I like it unsweet with lemon. No sugar, no molasses.

FSU better not let us down billybud. 8) 8)

I hang my entire bowl season, on whether ND loses...even if Ga wins their bowl, I'm still bummed when ND wins.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

That is good, you avoid a lot of empty calories that way. Not having the taste for it...can't beat that!
