What A Week ...

Postby Cane from the Bend » Sun Oct 27, 2019 2:07 am

______________________________________________

Coming back south after we got away from the Ann Arbor traffic, we were able to pick up speed and cruise home without much heavy lanes.

The best part, is that the weather cleared up before the game was over, so driving home, we were going in the direction away from the storm front. [worry not about this `Cane, as I've camped in conditions worse than what we saw at the Big House ... but the clear ponchos were a nice addition to the wardrobe today]

Man, things seemed bleak for the domers throughout the first half of the game. When the second half started, everything slowed down, and it looked as if the Irish would make a game of it ... but their touchdown must've woke up the Wolverines, because the played lights out, and ran down hill from there.

Notre Dame is officially out of the Playoff picture.

These late games only produced one worth watching. This Oregon -v- Washington State game is pretty good. The Pac truly needs Oregon to win. Utah Oregon have a shot at a post season glory. But they'll need to finish without another blemish.

The conference will come down to the Utes/Ducks.

[unless the Ducks lose ... Washington State just took the lead by 1 with under a minute to go, as I type this]

Boy; the Big XII sure took a big hit today.

Oklahoma - Texas - Iowa State all lost ...

Oklahoma's only shot, is that they made it close at the end. But, with the other ranked teams in conference losing, their schedule strength just got reduced.

Auburn, not enough early enough ... if they'd played so well in the middle of the game, they'd likely would have won. But LSU had too much energy through the 2cnd & 3rd quarters. The Bayou Bangles had the loudest roar in the Tiger Bowl.

Miami won ... but they didn't look as good as fsu.

If the `Canes win next week, it will be because the fsu offense gave Miami more offensive game footage to defend, than what the `Canes had shown vs Pitt.

For my Fantasy Conference; Of course ND would lose ... the day Miami wins, someone who should have had a victory was bound to fail.

Ohio St, Penn State & Minnesota all look very strong for the Big Ten yet. Maybe the most interesting conference in the country right now.

*Edit* --- and what is it about the World Series that seems as if the Home team is allergic to winning this year..?

I am glad I got back to see the end of this game ...

Oregon marches the field with under a minute, behind by 1 point; kicks a field goal with 1 second on the clock from inside the Washington St 10 yard line.

Great way to finish for the Ducks. Now, they've got USC next Saturday.

Amazing week. This is why Autumn is my favorite Season of the Year.

We ran through weather to get back to North Carolina...fall colors were beautiful...big winds late yesterday and last night...probably knocked the leaves off of the trees.

I'll see when the sun comes up...

Lost power...did not see any football after the beginning of FSU's second half....

The skunk bears did really look good agInst the Domers. It is hard to tell much in the B10 yesterday as everyone was playing in a torrential rain storm. Big 10 teams did get a chance to show off their old school game. The 3 yards and a cloud of dust games were out in force.

I watched FSU and Syracuse and flipped back and forth with LSU/Auburn.

Maybe it was the annoucers, but the FSU game was a snooze fest compared to LSU.

Fingers crossed that LSU can knock off Bama. 8)
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Guess one's viewpoint is a function of their vantage point...

Auburn-LSU was a tight game...10-10 at half...and a three point difference at the end. Exciting, I guess.

I missed the FSU game but have read the summaries...the institution of a new scheme, the Wild Cam (Cam in a wildcat)...Cam had 4 touchdowns...had a interesting triple pass for a fifty yard gain. And 35-17 was worse for Cuse than the score. It was 35-3 in the 4th when FSU put in the bench.

I missed both games....
