So if football is a TEAM SPORT……..
”We’re already in a time where the on-field aspect of College Football is almost a distraction. It’s an era filled with handwringing about player empowerment, NCAA deregulation, the transfer portal and realignment all while the sport generally moves toward a professional model.” ~ Dennis Dodd

It seem the boosters who run these collectives and their schools are every bit as dumb as the George Steinbrenner’s of the world. Hopefully they won’t do to CFB what they did to MLB.

What’s troubling to me is we’ve been down this booster road before……… back in the 80’s in the now defunct Southwest Conference, where they were buying players, coaches. Etc.
There boosters mantra was, ‘If you guys wanna cheat, we’ll show you how to cheat’. While the schools set back knowingly, and let it happen.
The conference became defunct, and also was the beginning of the end for the NCAA.

Wasn't SMU in the Southwest conference when they were handed the death penalty??
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.
The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Yes. And CFB is letting them do it legally now

Re: So if football is a TEAM SPORT……..
That’s some bunch down their at SMU……. bought their team, bought their way into the Atlantic Coast Conference. They even made a deal with the ACC to forgo Conference Revenue Share Dollars to gain admittance.
I’m just going to sit back and see how long it takes them to buy a National Title.
And I cannot help but wonder whether or not that same bunch of ‘Billionaire Boosters’ have made any contact with any House of Representatives or Senators about the NCAA’S efforts to gain antitrust and other legislation in order to govern and oversee College Athletics.
BTW…..
I heard yesterday on a WVU Sports Radio Show that there are well over 5000 “Student Athletes” currently in the Transfer Portal testing the demand and their value as determined by those in the market who make the bids…….
Kinda reminds me of when I was a kid and going to the Livestock Auction with my granddad……..
