Is Ktffan going to be the first to go the distance?

Well, it'll take me 400 more minutes, so I give up on this one. Ktffan's question is a tough one to crack.

Ohio and Cincy were the fourth on the list. Good job coming up with that.

Your a few years off RT.

Eric's guess was December of 1888 and the Notre Dame-Michigan which was #1 was (I believe) April of 1888. You are looking for something between those dates.

Lafayette is not currently in I-A.

Less then 3 hours to the end. Are you guys going to let Ktffan have the cash? You have got the dates narrowed and the year down.

Hint: Both teams are in division I-A.

Oh wait, you already know that.

Nevermind.

As the deadline approachs, I'm getting cocky.

HA! YOU GUYS CAN'T HANG WITH ME.

Ok, one minor hint. Both teams are currently in the same conference. (That eliminates all those many independents out there).

Edit-the censors don't like you getting cocky.

My wife and I are going out to celebrate. If someone gets it in the meantime, I'm going to send them a bill for the check.

Keep trying. You have the year, you just have to run down the game.

Congrats to Ktffan for having the first question to go the distance.

The Answer to the question is Wake Forest @ North Carolina Oct. 18, 1888.
WakeForest won 6-4.

Nice job, ktffan. I was stumped and stupified. I was searching through the ESPN College Football Encyclopedia and I came across some 1888 games. I should've realized that they didn't play week-to-week, so I had to research the date. All of these games have appeared to be played before that, but I guess not.
