CFP Pick'em - Week 3

Postby Eric » Sat Sep 11, 2010 11:53 pm

Okay, new rule: No Thursday night games. We had a few people miss the two games Thursday night, so I'll try to avoid them along with Friday night games (which really pains me because Cincinnati @ NC State and Kansas @ Southern Miss are soooo juicy for somebody who wants to make your lives miserable picking games :D ). Leaderboard will be up shortly, but the Stanford/UCLA game is still going on.

The preceding statements are solely the opinion of GoBoilers and are, therefore, probably not based whatsoever on fact, research or more time in thought than what was required to physically type them. They're probably correct anyway, so you shouldn't argue too much, because otherwise he'll just blather on forever. On the internet Al Gore invented.

Bummer. Those earlier games are some of the better contests and I don't think I've hit a single one of them yet.

Yeah I was really looking forward to putting Cincy @ NC State and Kansas @ Southern Miss on here, but I've been getting too many late entries and complaints. :(

I don't think I was complaining. I just thought we decided last year that we were not doing Thursday games any longer. Come up with a consistent rule, and everyone will adjust their routines accordingly.

You know;

a couple of questions were asked in another thread that peaked my interest.

1.) is there a tie breaker question? ( which is actually something we started the picks game with back in 2003 )

and

2.) are there any point deductions for inaccurate picks?

<>

Here's a proposal that you are more than welcome to outright disregard and discard if you find it too inconvenient.

If you want to add the Thursday & Friday games into the fray, you could use them as a bonus picks, to serve as a non-mandatory tie breaker... where wrong picks on these games could see a half point reduction.

Saturday choices would stay what they are; pre-weekend games would be a bonus for whomever chooses to pick the earlier games.

<>

Just a thought.
