Schedule Release Day

Postby Cane from the Bend » Wed Jan 22, 2020 11:53 pm

____________________________________________

At least there's something interesting to post about in the off season.

Miami Hurricanes 2020 Regular Season Schedule:

Sept. 5th -- (home) vs. Temple
Sept. 12th -- (home) vs. Wagner
Sept. 19th -- (home) vs. UAB
Sept. 26th -- (away) vs. Michigan State
Oct. 3rd -- (home) vs. Pitt
Oct. 9th -- (away) vs. Wake Forest
Oct. 17th -- Bye
Oct. 24th -- (home) vs. North Carolina
Oct. 31rst -- (away) vs. Virginia
Nov. 7th -- (home) vs. Florida State
Nov. 14th -- (away) vs. Virginia Tech
Nov. 21rst -- (away) vs. Georgia Tech
Nov. 28th -- (home) vs. Duke

This year the `Canes have just 1 bye week, exactly at the mid season mark.

I've already made plans to make the September 26th game, in East Lansing. Which is easily [obviously] the closest to me.

My big Conundrum is the home game on November 7th. I mean, who doesn't want to watch their favorite team beat up on their rival on a nice sized screen in the comfort of their own home ..?

However; there's a chance that I may get my hands on tickets for the Clemson/Notre Dame game on that same day ... Free, mind you.

I don't know if I can pass on that.

I guess it'll all depend on each game's start time, how well and what the relevance of each game will be to these teams, by then. Another season like last year, and I won't even hesitate to take the tickets.

I would go to the Florida State Miami game. ND/Clemson probably won’t be a good game.

The Miami/fsu game will be in Miami. I won't be at that game.

It'll come down to Watching the `Canes vs `Noles on TV, or going to the Notre Dame / Clemson game, since that one will be in South Bend.

Then I would go to ND-Clemson. Watching the games on TV are never as good as live.

Very similar to what Miami's is ...

The difference is the Season Finale FSU has vs the lizards. Miami has all 4 Out of Conference games to start, then finish with 8 straight ACC opponents.

I wonder how many ACC schools have that spread next season.

Well, that was a short lived trend ...

I just checked Clemson's schedule, which is:

Sept. 3rd -- [away] vs. Georgia Tech
Sept. 12th -- [home] vs. Louisville
Sept. 19th -- [home] vs. Akron
Sept. 26th -- [home] vs. Virginia
Oct. 2cnd -- [away] vs. Boston College
Oct. 10th -- [away] vs. Florida State
Oct. 17th -- [home] vs. N.C. State
Oct. 24th -- [home] vs. Syracuse
Oct. 31rst -- Bye
Nov. 7th -- [away] vs. Notre Dame
Nov. 14th --[home] vs. The Citadel
Nov. 21rst -- [away] vs. Wake Forest
Nov. 28th -- [home] vs. South Carolina

Looks very similar to an SEC schedule. Only difference is, they are not playing The Citadel the week before in state rival, South Carolina.

It has been working for them and they should be healthy going into the playoffs. Can't blame them for taking advantage of their position.

This is Ohio State's 2020 schedule:

Sept. 5 – Bowling Green
Sept. 12 – at Oregon
Sept. 19 – Buffalo
Sept. 26 – Rutgers
Oct. 3 – Off
Oct. 10 – Iowa
Oct. 17 – at Michigan State
Oct. 24 – at Penn State
Oct. 31 – Nebraska
Nov. 7 – Indiana
Nov. 14 – at Maryland
Nov. 21 – at Illinois
Nov. 28 – Michigan
Dec. 5 – Big Ten Championship Game

The last game is wishful thinking. A better schedule than last year. At Oregon and At Penn State should be the key games. Ohio State also my avoid complacency at Home against Iowa and in East Lansing. Kind of a poor November slate. If Ohio State can get through Sept and October, the schedule is very favorable coming into the game against TTUN.

Playing Boise and WVU in the first three games (with neither in Tallahassee) will be a tough start for a new coaching crew...

I agree. It is a good start for FSU.
