Although the Air Force / Colorado game hasn't been played in 45 years; both Schools are referring to it as a Rivalry they both wanted to see Renewed, as being "Good for the State". On a side note, the last time these two teams played each other, was on October 5th, 1974 [the day I was born].

This is the type of matchup that should always be scheduled. Regional football at its best. Will give Colorado State a second true Rocky Mountain High.

I agree. But I also like the Big 10/ Pac12 matchups like we used to play. It made the early games more exciting.

There were simple traditions that fit into our "rest of our life" schedules. Not the other way around. And on January 2 you knew you could go on to other activities.

........I’m saying this from memory, I believe I recall someone on ESPN Radio saying that the College Football Season now lasts for 143 days.

Now a-days that does leave much time to squeeze in the rest of our lives.

One thing is for sure ...

Gotta give Colorado a whole lot of credit here. They opened the season with Colorado State, Nebraska and now Air Force.

That is Back to Back to Back Rivalry games, all out of conference. And with the 9 game Conference Schedule teams in the Pac-12 use; that is All of Colorado's OoC Competition --- I don't know of any other program who is willing to tow that rope.

And, to make this more impressive; in 2015, when the Colorado -v- Air Force series was contracted, this game was originally scheduled for 2020. They bumped it forward a year, so Colorado agreed to it, knowing their opponents for week 1 & 2 ahead of time.

Now that's Moxie.
