Bobby Doerr Pases

Postby donovan » Tue Nov 14, 2017 11:38 am

Bobby Doerr was before my time but certainly heard of him as a kid. This is a very good article about a good man. Good article to read.

Very cool. My dad said Ted Williams was the best player he ever saw. Hank Aaron was the best for me.

When I was a kid Ted Williams was sponsored by Sears and the JC Higgins Sports brand. He came to Portland and put on an exhibition of fly casting. There was a pond with what seems like a 12 inch ring in it and he was at least 50 feet away and he put the fly right in the center. Was a good childhood memory.

That would have been very cool to see. Ted Williams was not only my dads favorite player, but his high school baseball team gave him Ted Williams' nickname.
