update

Postby bama_girl » Wed Jul 03, 2013 12:37 pm

hello guys!!!
quick update on me.
tiny new GBM (brain tumor) growing right next to the bigass one we already killed. radiation damage is already present in that area so there is no real risk of further damage. which is best possible scenario in my case.
don't worry about me, i got this.
i'm in a much better place now than when first diagnosed.
just wanted to touch base with you guys and ask for prayers.

:) every little bit counts :)

love yall and will update asap
lots going on right now and my kids are doing great under the circumstances so gota take care of them first :)

You have my prayers. I'm glad you kids are doing well. I hope they kick this tumor's butt and you can move on from it. You have a great spirit.

Keep up your courage. I can tell you that attitude is paramount in conquering these foes, I have seen it countless times. God bless you and your children. Donovan

Good to hear from you BamaGirl! You will be in our prayers!

I also will be thinking of you...

You sound positive, and that's half the battle.

Keep fighting. Prayers sent your way.

i'm still alive!
finished up radiation at UAB on wednesday just in time for the season :)
i have two weeks of chemo to go and then two weeks after that we do mri to see if we kilt it.
more importantly to me, my youngest girl started college last week. that's all three of them yaaay!
that was a major concern for me with all the "you're gona die" crap.

the only real problem i had this time was i had a FOR REAL psychotic reaction to the steroids and i dont remember about three weeks. my face puffed up like a frog and the kids said i was really mean and would scream at people for no reason and i kept stealing stuff from stores and doctors offices and they kept having to drag me out of stores saying "im sorry she has a brain tumor" i thot they were just messing with me but there is random stuff in the bottom of my purses so i guess i'm lucky to not be in jail.

anyway, it was fun for them apparently. they keep telling stories and laughing at how retarded i was acting and the inapropriate comments i made to ppl and the looks on their faces etc etc...

anyway, thank you so much for thots and prayers and i'll be back!!!

Glad to hear the worm is turning. I only can think of one thing to say to some up what I think of the way you have handled this -- You are my hero. I hope you can use this experience to let other people know how to face an impossible situation. They say God will never give you more then you can handle. Well you are one tough a$s woman. You are tougher than a 285 lb nose tackle. Good luck in finishing kicking this disease's butt and this is from me to you ----- Roll Tide and Roll BG!

Way to go. I know the rough road, but to do it, to persevere is to give the body a chance to heal itself as the process progresses. Attitude is everything. Both to you and Mr. Billybud are hearts go out and you are, as Spence said, our heroes.

Hang in there girl!!!

I too will graduate from radiation (in 14 more treatments....no chemo).

A guy who I have talked to a lot, while awaiting my turn in the microwave, has had brain cancer...and he just got puffy from the meds. He can not drive yet (had a seizure that they are worried about). He graduated today.

I'll be thinking of you while I watch Saban's boys this year....
