Her husband Chris was a former NFL player, Buckeye, and currently works for ESPN. Here is the link. She fought a long hard battle:she was one tough lady.

That's unfortunate for the kids, family, et al. She sounded like she battled it well. Definitely a shame, Spielman has to be one of my favorite announcers.

I know you probably new how Chris played, Stefanie was his female counterpart. She fought as hard as anyone could fight. She raised millions to fight the disease. She even insisted on being on the field with Chris this year when he was inducted into the college football hall of fame, even though she couldn't walk anymore. She was only forty two, the same age as my little sister. Cancer is such a horrible disease.

Chris and his kids are in for the toughest time of their life. My heart breaks for them.

Terrible news....
"A team with something to play for is dangerous, but a team with someone to play for is unstoppable..." Arkansas OL Brey Cook quote following the death of teammate Garrett Uekman (Nov. 2011).
