....Tennessee

...The Tennessee legislature just made the Barrett .50 cal sniper rifle the Official Rifle of Tennessee. You have to love their non PC move.. The liberals must be screaming.

Trump

....I don't think he gives a rat's butt. about being PC...he may actually be going the other way as strategy. He has made me smile...no..laugh...no...choke. He has a natural clown's face...does not need makeup to be expressive.

Oscars

....The best line by Chris Rock..."The Oscars are the BET awards for white people".

I'm not against the message for the most part, it is the messenger that bothers me.

I am reasonably sure there must be something in the Book of Revelation about all of this, the buffoonery of politics.

When you travel to cities, other than your own, you never go to unknown Chinese Restaurants. There is just too much of a gamble. American is ready for Lung Fung's in Bogalusa, LA.

As one of my favorite detective novelist sometimes features in his books...America is about cultural fusion.

His fictional cops eat at a LA restaurant where the Greek owner married a Chinese woman...and they only feature the day's special....always a weird greek-chinese concoction.

And, art sometimes imitates life...there is a movement towards greek-chinese fusion as well as other cultural mixings.

I ordered a cuban sandwich in Dahlonaga and got the normal pressed pork, ham on cuban bread...but with crream cheese, jalapenos and mint jelly.

SPOT ON!

The guy is coming across as a petulant child, and it really bothers me what he is doing to the Republican Party. I've never EVER seen so much in-fighting since he's been a part of the race.

It's very sad that he will most likely be the nominee.

And we have two personality's up there that KNOW they will not win, and by their refusal to quit, they are virtually handing it to him. Cruz COULD win this if the others drop out and it's a 2 horse race as I believe that Rubio and Kasich voters would never go to The Donald.

Honestly, this is where I feel the State of the Union (or politics in general is going)...this is from a movie called Idiocracy, but it's about as Prophetic as the book of Revelation in my humble opinion.

Now that the godless Chinese communists have given us back our message board....by the way, Derek, I thought you were in charge of protecting us from such intrusion...I am only consoled that no temporary manager of this country can destroy it. (Not sure about 16 years worth of rudderless leadership.)

Seems to me Mr. Trump and Mr. Sanders have defined what is wrong with the United States and every other candidate has jumped on the lists and added nothing to their own analysis of the problem. From my perspective, none of them have gotten to the core issue. Kasich came close in one speech, but it needs to be more than just coming close. To paraphrase William F. Buckley, "you need to vote for the most electable candidate that comes closest to your convictions. Now who and the heck is that?

I say this all the time. I'm afraid that movie is more prophetic then I care to admit.

Yes, I fell down on the job and offer my apologies. I'll try not to let it happen again.

All is forgiven.

For the first time ever in my life I couldn't vote for a candidate in the primary. In Ohio you can vote either party in the primary. It doesn't have to be the party you belong to. So I could choose any candidate running for either side and I couldn't find one that I would be ok with being responsible for helping to elect. Maybe I will before the election, but I just don't see being able to participate in electing a president this time. I will vote, but probably not for president. The choices are just so distasteful that I can't, in good conscience, vote for any of them.

My neighbor showed me a sign he is putting up....

MY NEIGHBOR IS AN UNARMED LIBERAL SOCIALIST

I did laugh...I, of course, am rather well armed, not a socialist...and maybe, not even a liberal. Just prefer to bid no trump.

I voted in the Michigan primary after not having done so ever. I almost bothered to vote for Ron Paul in both 08 and 12, but it was kind of a waste of time at that stage in the election. I did vote for Trump, although I don't like admitting that in public because of all the glares that that admission garners  .

As far as I can tell, he's got the best foreign policy and the best policy on our immigration problems. On trade I'm more skeptical that he can really get anything positive done, but I'm willing to give him a chance since our economy is on the verge again (supposedly due for a recession between now and the beginning of next year). Trump is the kind of guy who might do a great job without even realizing what he is doing because Washington is so dysfunctional. Some of the stuff is a pipe dream (think of all the eminent domain cases to be slugged out during the construction of a border wall?), but his campaign also has the additional asset of being hilarious. I love that he is ruffling all of the right feathers. I'd wager 50% of Trump's support is that he makes both the Republican hacks and the far-left apoplectic with rage. I don't think he would raze Washington to the ground, so some of these fears are overblown. Keep in mind that Trump is both Hitler and a closet liberal

I think you're better off voting on the personality than the specific policy proposals anyway because you can only work within the confines of the system and what it will allow. I think Trump's heart is in the right place on the economy, immigration, and foreign policy, which is why he got my support. I don't know if he can accomplish everything to the exact degree, but it beats Hillary Clinton. And I think Ted Cruz is a weasel. And Trump has the additional benefit of being a bulldozer. So while his negatives may prevent him from winning, Hillary Clinton will not come out of the other side of this election as a complete human being, which will be worth it. I think she'd beat Cruz anyway and Kasich would be a Pyrrhic victory. And who knows, he might actually accomplish the goal of making the electorate hate Hillary Clinton more than they hate him, which ought to be his goal going forward since there are so many hard feelings that won't be going away. Cruz likes to say that he has the edge in polls right now, but he will be way too easy to paint as a religious fundamentalist (the guy copied his mannerisms from televangelists, I mean come on). There's a lot of baggage there too.

I agree though Derek, there is a bit of an Idiocracy factor at play in Trump's support, but honestly it's a smart strategy to exploit.

I am with you on the no Trump. I have a hard time believing he has made this far. I think it speaks to the overall education of the people of this country that Trump, Cruz, Sanders, and Clinton are our choices. No one on this either potential ticket would have been considered 30-40 years ago. It is very sad.
