American-Lehigh

Postby BYUfan1 » Fri Feb 10, 2012 11:19 am

Sophomore center Tony Wroblicky achieved his first career double-double to lead the American Eagles to a 71-62 victory over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. For the game, Wroblicky had 18 points and 17 rebounds, both career highs. The Mountain Hawks were hot from 3-point range early in gaining an early 21-10 lead, but the Eagles came back to lead 40-36 at the half. For the game, American shot 47% (27-58) while Lehigh shot 38% (24-63). American's better shooting overcame the fact that the Eagles committed 16 turnovers compared to the 7 by the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh's C.J. McCollum led all scorers with 30 points, but he took 30 points to achieve that total. American is now 10-0 at home, bringing its overall record to 16-8 and its record in the Patriot League to 7-2. The Mountain Hawks fall to 6-3 in the conference and 18-7 overall. Bucknell still leads the conference with a perfect 9-0 record so far.
