Jackson State-Alcorn State

Postby BYUfan1 » Sun Feb 05, 2012 5:49 pm

In a game marred by poor shooting by both teams, the Alcorn State Braves went on the road and defeated the Jackson State Tigers 57-46. The Tigers shot 29% (16-55) from the field and made only 9 of their 18 attempts from the free-throw line. The Braves shot 40% (19-48) from the field while converting on four of their 12 attempts from long distance. Freshman KeDorian Sullivan paced the Braves with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Xavian Rimmer chipped in with 12 points for Alcorn State. Kelsey Howard was the only Tiger to reach double figures in the game. Howard registered 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting. Both teams are now 3-7 in the SWAC. Alcorn State climbs to 5-16 overall while Jackson State falls to 5-17. The Tigers have now lost three games in a row.
