Ball State-Miami OH

Postby BYUfan1 » Sun Feb 05, 2012 5:20 pm

The Ball State Cardinals tried to comeback from a lackluster first-half performance but fell to the Miami, OH RedHawks 59-53. Miami had a 34-18 lead at the half and led by 12 points with 2:13 left in the game. Ball State twice got within three points, but the RedHawks made 5 of 6 free throws in the last 24.4 seconds of the game to secure the victory. Ball State forced 19 turnovers and only committed five. However, the Cardinals shot just 33% (20-60) from the field, including 3-21 from beyond the arc.

Brian Sullivan came off the bench to make 4 of 6 his 3-point attempts on his way to scoring 18 points for Miami. Point guard Quinten Rollins chipped in with 14 points and 2 assists. Tyrae Robinson was the only Ball State player to reach double figures in scoring as he registered 14 points in the losing effort. Ball State falls to 12-9 and 4-5 in the MAC while Miami OH is now 7-14 and 3-6 in conference play.
