Pepperdine-St. Mary's

Postby BYUfan1 » Sat Dec 31, 2011 9:17 pm

The St. Mary's Gaels used a balance attack to defeat the Pepperdine Waves 74-45. The Waves shot like they were stuck in low tide. In the game, the Waves shot 37% (17-46) from the field, missing on all 10 of their attempts from 3-point range. Jordan Baker was the lone bright spot for Pepperdine scoring 14 points while making 7 of his 10 attempts from the floor. Baker did miss on all 3 of his free throw attempts, which were more than the entire Gaels team missed in the game (10-12). Taylor Darby had 10 points and 3 rebounds in the losing effort for the Waves.

Junior point guard Matthew Dellavedova had 16 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists in the game. Jordan Page chipped in with 14 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals, while Stephen Holt scored 14 points and grabbed 6 boards. The Gaels made 10 of their 23 attempts from beyond the arc and shot 45% overall from the field.
