Oregon State-Howard

Postby BYUfan1 » Fri Dec 16, 2011 11:19 am

The Oregon State Beavers started off making only 6 of their first 18 shots but went on to shoot 51.7% from the field and easily defeated the Howard Bison 93-72. Lat night marked the first time since December 4, 2004 that the Beavers had at least 3 players score 20 or more points in the same game. Ahmad Starks made 5-of-6 from 3-point range on his way to 22 points. Center Angus Brandt had 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting, and Roberto Nelson came off the bench to register 20 points for Oregon State.

Oregon State is 8-2 and is off to their best start since in fourteen years. The Beavers have already scored 90 or more points in four games this year. In the six seasons before this year, the Beavers only scored 90 or more points twice.

The Bison shot just 24-of-61, 39.3%, from the field. Prince Okoroh led the Bison with 13 points and 4 rebounds. Glen Andrews, a transfer from Tulsa making his first start for Howard, scored 11 points.
