DePaul was up at the half 28-25, but Northern Illinois had a 33-32 lead with 16:34 left in the game. DePaul called timeout and then went on a 17-0 run to take a 49-33 lead with 13:49 left in the second half.

Cleveland Melvin led the Blue Demons with 19 points and Jeremiah Kelley added 15 for DePaul. For the game, DePaul shot 47.4% from the field while holding Northern Illinois to 29.1% shooting.
