UMBC-Morgan State

The Maryland-Baltimore County Retrievers took plenty of shots but didn't make enough of them as the Morgan State Bears beat UMBC 73-60. The Retrievers took 27 more shots from the field than the Bears but made 2 less. UMBC shot 23-73 (31.5%) from the field and 4-of-21 (19%) from 3-point range. The Retrievers won the rebounding battle 43-39. UMBC led 18-17 with 6:28 left in the first half but ended up trailing 35-24 at the half.

Forward Kevin Thompson led the Bears with 17 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks. Thompson made 8 of his 10 shots. Center Ian Chiles added 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Blake Bozeman came off the bench to score 13 points, including making 4 of his 6 attempts from long range.

Brian Neller was 3-of-9 from 3-point range and scored a total of 16 points for UMBC. Chase Plummer scored no points in the first half but ended up with 11 points for the game for the Retrievers. Plummer also collected 12 boards on the night.
