Iona proved to be too athletic for Richmond as the Gaels got a road win against the Spiders 88-79. The Gaels were only up 37-35 at the half despite the fact that they shot 50% from the field. In the second half, Iona turned in up a notch and got many uncontested layups as they shot 68% (21-31) in the second half. For the game, Iona made 8 of their 14 attempts from 3-point range. Richmond turned the ball over 15 times in the game.

Mike Glover led the way for the Gaels by scoring 24 points and bringing down 8 rebounds. Scott Machado, the Division I leader in assists per game, added 15 more to his total and also chipped in with 13 points. Sean Armand came off the bench to make 5 of his 6 tries from long distance and finished with 17 points.

Senior Darrius Garrett achieved his first double-double for Richmond by getting 13 points and 11 rebounds. He also blocked 4 shots in the game. Cedrick Lindsay scored 21 points and dished out 8 assists in a losing effort for the Spiders.
