California-San Jose State

Postby BYUfan1 » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:04 am

The game between the California Golden Bears and the the San Jose Spartans was over almost as soon as it started as Cal won easily 81-36. The Golden Bears jumped off to a 15-2 start within the first four minutes of the game and took a 43-15 halftime lead. The Spartans only had two players score any points in the first half, and forward Wil Carter scored the first 11 points for San Jose State. By that time Cal was ahead 37-11. Carter finished the game with 13 points and 4 rebounds.

Allen Crabbe lead the Bears with 18 points. Jorge Gutierrez chipped in with 14 points and also had 4 assists. Gutierrez was the ringleader in Cal's suffocating man-to-man defense that held the Spartans to 12-of-60 shooting from the floor in the game.
