Loyola-Marymount-St. Louis

Postby BYUfan1 » Wed Nov 30, 2011 1:17 pm

Even without their two best offensive players, the Loyola-Marymount Lions defeated the No. 23 ranked St. Louis Billikens 75-68. St. Louis was hot from 3-point range early in the game and took a 28-16 lead with 4:27 left in the first half. The Lions then went on a run of their own to only be down 4 points, 30-26, at the half. After only shooting 32.1% from the field in the first half, LMU shot 13-of-21 (61.9%) in the second half. LaRon Armstead came of the bench to score 22 points in 24 minutes of action. He also made all 10 of his foul shots in the game. Anthony Ireland chipped in with 17 points and 4 rebounds for the Lions. Cody Ellis made 4 of his 6 attempts from long distance to lead the Billikens with 18 points.
