Fordham-Colgate

Postby BYUfan1 » Wed Nov 30, 2011 12:36 pm

Instead of foul problems hurting the Fordham Rams, it propelled them to a 79-69 victory over the Colgate Raiders. With Marvin Dominique and Kerwin Bristol in foul trouble, the Rams went to a smaller lineup that proved to be too quick for the Raiders as the Rams recorded seven of their 15 steals in the last seven minutes of the game. Devon McMillan lead the Rams with 20 points and 5 steals. Bryan Smith came off the bench to give Fordham 19 points and 6 steals.

Colgate could never take advance of Fordham's lack of size in the second half as they struggled to get into their offense without turning the ball over. For the game, Fordham had 30 points in the paint compared to 12 by the Raiders. Colgate ended up shooting better from 3-point range, 45.8%, than they did overall from the field, 39.6%. In a losing effort, Sterling Melville had 13 points and 4 rebounds for Colgate.
