The Providence Friars got off to an 8-0 start, and it didn't get any better for the Florida A&M Rattlers as the Friars cruised to an 87-65 victory. The score could have been worse but the Friars only made 26 of their 49 free-throw attempts. Four Providence players finished the game in double figures. FAMU shot just 33% (23-70) from the field and Providence shot 53%.
Bryce Cotton led the Friars with 26 points. Point guard Vincent Council struggled with early foul trouble but finished with 13 points. The Rattlers couldn't make shots and didn't play much defense, but Reggie Lewis did shine for FAMU as he scored 18 points.
