Kent State-Alcorn State

Postby BYUfan1 » Sun Nov 20, 2011 3:19 am

the Kent State Golden Flashes overcame a sluggish start and defeated the Alcorn State Braves 77-58. The Braves led must of the first half, but Kent State's head coach, Rob Senderoff, took all five starters out at once, and the bench players provided a spark and the Golden Flashes took the lead at the half 32-30. Kent State had the edge in bench points 38-6 for the game. Alcorn State shot just 25% in the second half.

Marquis Baker of Alcorn State had 19 of the Braves' 30 points scored in the first half. However, Baker had just one field goal in the second half and finished with 29 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds. Chris Evans came off the bench for the Golden Flashes to score 15 points. Michael Porrini had 12 points and 6 assists for Kent State while Justin Greene contributed 12 points and 7 rebounds in the winning effort.
