San Diego State-Connecticut

Postby BYUfan1 » Thu Mar 24, 2011 10:57 pm

Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb combined to score 60 points as the Connecticut Huskies, the #3 seed in the West, defeated the San Diego State Aztecs, the #2 seed, 74-67. Walker shrugged off a slow start to score 36 points. At one point in the second half, Walker scored 14 points in a row for the Huskies. Lamb made a key 3-pointer to put Connecticut up by four with 1:42 left in the game. The star player for the Aztecs, Kawhi Leonard, was plagued by foul trouble throughout the game and only totaled 12 points. For San Diego State, point guard D.J. Gay had 16 points, and Billy White tallied 14 points.
