Louisville sweeps home conference slate

Postby Swamp Daddy » Wed Mar 02, 2011 10:37 pm

Louisville just gave Providence a 27 point putdown  at the KFC Yum Center to sweep the home conference slate. The second half was a highlight reel as almost nothing could go wrong. Senior Preston Knowles had his first double-double ending his career on a high note. With basically no time left in the first half, he grabbed a rebound with his back to the basket about 6 feet away. He heaved an over the head hail mary which went 15 feet in the air and dropped through. That one is bound to be on YouTube somewhere :D . He continued to pour in all manner of shots in the second half. What a way to go out.

Guard Peyton Siva slid headfirst on his chest about 10 feet to grab a ball on the floor and passed it under the basket to Kyle Kuric for a score. A real hoot  . UL will get a double bye in the BE tournament as a result of this win.

after that good showing at home we went on the road for the last game at West Virginia and lost in the closing seconds at the free throw line due to a silly foul. Won't hurt us in the Big East  ; well have to do well there to get a good NCAA seed :D .
