Northern Colorado-North Dakota

Postby BYUfan1 » Tue Feb 22, 2011 4:30 am

Five players scored in double figures as the Northern Colorado Bears defeated the North Dakota Fighting Sioux 87-69. The Bears played a lackluster first half but outscored North Dakota 50-37 in the second half after starting it off with a 16-2 run. It took the Fighting Sioux almost five minutes to score a basket in the second half. Senior Devon Beitzel shot 7-of-15 from the floor and recorded 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Bears. North Dakota, a future member of the Big Sky, was led by Troy Huff with 20 points. Northern Colorado is now 10-0 at home, 16-10 overall and 10-3 in conference play. The Bears are 1/2 game behind Montana in the Big Sky. North Dakota is now 13-13 and 5-3 (3rd place) in the Great West Conference.
