Nolan Smith recoverd from an eye injury early in the first half to lead Duke to a road win over the Miami Hurricanes 81-71. Smith scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half. Seh Curry followed up a strong effort against North Carolina with 16 points in this game. Free throw shooting was a major factor in this game as Miami only shot 6 free throws, making 5, while Duke was 17 of 21. Durand Scott had 10 points and 8 assists for the Hurricanes, while Malcolm Scott scored 16 points. Since 2000, Miami is just 1-17 against teams ranked in the AP Top 25. Duke is atop the ACC at 10-1 and is 23-2 overall. Miami is in 8th place at 4-7 and falls to 15-10 for the season.
