Montana State-Sacramento State

Postby BYUfan1 » Mon Feb 14, 2011 1:27 am

The Sacramento State Hornets grabbed a comanding early in the second half only to barely escape with 74-71 victory over the Montana State Bobcats. The Hornets led 47-32 with 14 minutes remaining and 66-55 with 3 minutes left but were ahead 2 points with 30 seconds left. The Bobcats missed a layup and a three-quarter shot during the last moments of the game. Sultan Toles-Bey made 5 of 7 three-pointers and finished with 18 points. Alpha N'Diaye also scored 18 points for Sacramento State. Bobby Howard scored a career-high 28 points for the Bobcats but took 26 shots. He was just 2 of 11 from long distance as Montana State was just 5 of 33 from 3-point range as a team.

Montana State is 11-14 overall and 5-8 in Big Sky play. Sacramento State moves to 7-17 and 4-9. Just six teams make the Big Sky Tournament. Currently, the Bobcats hold the final spot with Idaho State having a 4-8 conference record.
