Southern Utah-Cal State Bakersfield

Postby BYUfan1 » Thu Feb 03, 2011 1:42 pm

In a game marked by turnovers and poor free-throw shooting, the Southern Utah Thunderbirds defeated the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners 63-59. The game marked the second time this season the Thunderbirds defeated the Roadrunners. Bakersfield's Stephon Carter was suppose to be the main attraction but he shot just 4 of 12 the field, 0 of 3 from long distance, and 6 of 13 from the free-throw line. CSUB's main 3-pointers shooters, Donavan Bragg and Alex Johnson were a combined 2 of 13 from long range. The two teams combined to shoot 53% from the foul line (31-58). Cal State Bakersfield is now 9-13 as an Independent. Southern Utah moves to 7-15 and is 3-8 (8th place) in the Sumiit League. Oakland leads the Summit League with a 11-0 conference record.
