Sacramento State-Northern Colorado

Postby BYUfan1 » Fri Jan 21, 2011 9:32 am

Northern Colorado did appear to be much this season, but after last night's 77-72 victory over the Sacramento State Hornets, the Bears are now 6-0 in big Sky play. Devon Beitzel continues to play his way into consideration for Big sky Player of the Year with a 25-point performance against the Hornets. Sophomore point guard Ellott Lloyd scored a career high 18 points. The Hornets used the 3-pointer and three throws late in the game to make the contest close. Sultan Toles-Bey scored 12 of his 25 points in the last 2:32 of the game. Toles-Bey was 5-for-10 from 3-point range and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line for the game.

Northern Colorado is in good position to win the regular-season portion of the Big Sky as they already have home victories over the two teams with one loss in conference play. The Bears are now 10-7 on the season. Sacramento State will have to fight its way into the conference tournament as the team falls to 0-7 in conference play and 3-15 overall.
