Maine-Vermont

Postby BYUfan1 » Wed Jan 19, 2011 12:59 am

The Maine Black Bears went on the road and defeated the Vermont Catamounts 72-58 in a key America East game. Maine is now 5-1 in the conference and 11-7 overall. Vermont falls to 3-2 in conference play and 12-5 overall. This was the first time that Maine defeated Vermont since January 18, 2007. Maine controlled the game throughout and kept extending the lead anytime Vermont appeared to be closing the gap. Troy Barnies, Gerald McLemore, and Raheem Singleton all had 14 points for the Black Bears. Evan Fjeld led the Catamounts with 18 points. Before tonight, Vermont was 8-0 when outrebounding its opponent.
