Stanford won easily 64-48 despite only getting two points from Jeremy Green, last season's leading scorer. Stanford also only shot 40.7% from the floor and 56.5% (13-23) from the foul line. However, Stanford did get 25 points off turnovers. The Cardinal had no starters score in double figures. but Adrew Zimmermann had 14 points and 4 rebounds off the bench. Gabriel Harris came off the bench to score 12 points, making both of his 3-point attempts.

San Diego committed 20 turnovers for the game. Starting point guard Darian Norris had 10 points but dished out zero assists while turning the ball over 5 times. Devin Ginty had 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Toreros. Sophomore forward Chris Manresa had 8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks for San Diego in the losing effort.
