UL is on a 7 game winning streak, now 24-4, approaching March with only 3 games remaining + conference tournament games. They are pounding those that they should and won a close one at Cincinnati. They look focused and ready and are playing their best team ball of the year.

Looks good for the big dance, Swamp Daddy :)

Arkansas is finally turning the corner under 3rd year Ark head coach Mike Anderson. They are setting at 20-9 and winners of 7 of their last 8 (only loss on the road at Missouri...lost by two and missed a 4 foot basketball that would have won the game). Hogs just beat Kentucky on the road in Rupp arena (beat Kentucky twice this year)!!!!!

Hogs have two regular season games left...at home vs Ole Miss tomorrow and then at Alabama at end of week to close out the season.

Looks like Hogs may be back in the tournament field. It has been rough for the Hogs since Nolan Richardson was the coach. We got spoiled in the 1970's-1980's with Eddie Sutton and Nolan Richardson took it to a whole new level. It was a given Hogs would be in the tournament every year and they were always ranked. They have been to 6 final fours, two championship games, and have 1 NC and have only been in the tournament twice since Nolan was fired.

I have not been this excited about Razorback basketball since Nolan left. Go Hogs beat Ole Miss!!!!

UL split 2-1 on the last 3 games to end the regular season at 26 -5. Somewhat of a strange bracket in our one year in the AAC; and, I'm looking forward to the ACC next year. With UL, Syracuse and Pitt from the BE now in the ACC it's going to get more physical for sure.

And, I'm counting on Arkansas to whip UK for the 3rd time in the SEC tournament (LOL). I think things have been better for Arkansas this year and maybe the corner has been turned.

Wichita State looks ready for a run again.

In one way I can complain. The selection committee packed 5 of the 7 best teams in the Midwest region. In another way, if you are good you should win anyway.

UL made it to the Sweet Sixteen but fluffed away a 6 point lead (3 minutes to go) when the players totally abandoned what had worked all game and started the individual one on one stuff and Kentucky took advantage of the empty trips to edge ahead. Such is life.

I now think the selection committee packed wiht midwest with all the power so that no one in last years trourney or the year before could win again (i.e. UL and KY). I hoped UL would prove them wrong and make the final four anyway; instead it was UK who did it.

Other regions had much easier paths for the one good team to make the final four.

Shame on the selection committee, Swamp Daddy

Well, the lights are out at the KFC Yum center, the locker rooms empty mostly; and, the long withdrawal until next fall is beginning. However, one last annual event here is the all star game held during the 10 day Kentucky Derby Festival. UL and UK recruits are usually among the players featured and three UL recruits were a highlight. Local player Quentin Snider was shinning and will be an asset in the future. Two 7 footers are coming in too; looks like next year will be interesting at first and should be great at the end. The game was at the old UL home court at Freedom Hall.
