Postby BYUfan1 » Sun Jan 19, 2014 6:47 am

The Vermont Catamounts darted out a 11-0 over the UMBC Retrievers and never looked back in an easy UMBC 73-47 victory. Vermont shot 52.9% (9-17) from 3-point range, with three makes to start the game. Candon Rusin scored 22 points for the Catamounts in just 25 minutes. Brian Voelkel had just two points in the game but collected 10 rebounds and dished out nine assists. As a team, UMBC only had five assists for the entire game. The Retrievers shot 31.9% (15-47) from the field and 21.4% (3-14) from long distance. Chase Plummer came off the bench to score 12 points and grab four rebounds for the Retrievers while Rodney Elliott had 10 points while being in foul trouble for most of the game. Vermont has now won six games in a row to move to 10-8 overall and 4-0 in the America East. UMBC falls to 1-4 in conference action and 5-13 for the season.
