CFP Rules and Regulations

Postby openSkies » Fri Dec 30, 2005 2:53 pm

LAST UPDATED: 09/26/2011
CHANGES:
Change of CFPRR CFPRR 1(c)

This document is designed to clarify various responsibilities of community members here at CFP. Please read and become familiar with it, as it's terms are retroactive and agreed upon by all members.

1. Forum Rules

a. Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting. Users consistently posting to the wrong forum may be given a warning.
(i.) No member shall post within a Top 25 Users Poll Group Thread other than their own. Those who do will be immediately suspended from their position as a participant, or given a warning if no participation is had.

b. Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users beyond a reasonable limit will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
(i.) No member will harass, assault, bully, or otherwise flame any member or group of the CFP Top 25 Users Poll for their final ranking, or comments made within the respective Group Thread.

c. Members should remember this board is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic, racial, or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning or removal. This is not a gambling site and any posts overtly promoting or soliciting such activity will be removed.

d. Members should respect the bandwidth of other users and sites. The use of inline (IMG)(/IMG) image tags pointing to data stored on third-party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to may be removed.

e. Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". That is, users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or colored text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts. Users consistently abusing this will be warned.
(i.) It should also be noted that members shall not post numerous topics relating to the same thought in order to gain more attention to any single subject. All thoughts on a subject should be grouped together in one encompassing post if at all possible.

f. Spam will not be tolerated under any circumstance. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed.

g. The above forum rules where applicable also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings (as above) and/or the revocation of private messaging.

h. Posting excessively to build Post Counts will result in a verbal (unofficial) warning, and a decrease of up to 100 posts from your current count. If another instance occurs, your Post Count will be reduced to zero (0) and you will receive a warning.

2. Signatures and Avatars

a. Signatures and avatars are subject to the same rules and regulations in regards to posts, as set forth in CFPRR Section 1.

b. Images may be allowed for use as signature, but they must adhere to the same rules as outlined in CFPRR Section 1 above. Also, a reasonable size must not be exceeded, as determined by authorized Administrators or Moderators.

3. Administrator and Moderator Authorities

a. The Administrator and Moderator Teams are all hand-selected by the owners of this board, and were chosen based upon their displayed character traits and knowledge. If you feel an Admin or Moderator is not qualified nor fit for his/her position, you may make a complaint within seven (7) days of the appointment. All new appointments will be made public in the 'Announcements > New Moderators' forum.

b. CFP currently uses a three-strike policy. Users will be warned a maximum of three times within one (1) year for any and all offenses. If the needed arises for a third warning, the user will be banned. Members of the Admin and Moderator Teams may also elect to implement a temporary ban for special circumstances.

c. Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact a site Administrator or the Moderator Team Leader. If they feel you were treated poorly, they may remove the warning. If you feel their decision is also unfair, you may contact users 'openSkies' or 'CFP Admin'. Their decision is final.
(i.) Users will not post any content in relation to warnings received, nor will they question the Admin/Moderator Teams publicly. All correspondence will be handled in a private manner, through either private messaging or e-mail.

d. Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to evade an IP ban, or registering a new email account to evade an email ban.

e. An exception to the three strike rule applies when users contact Admin/Moderator Team members personally (via any method) and post insulting, indecent, or vulgar material. One more exception lies with posting pornographic material, or links to said material. Such users may be subject to an immediate permanent ban.
(i.) Immediate bans may also be issued after a unanimous vote has been achieved by both the Admin and Moderator Teams.

f. The Admin/Moderator Teams reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted Regulations CFPRR 1(b), CFPRR 1(c), CFPRR 1(d), CFPRR 1(e), CFPRR 1(f) is up to Team Members and not users.

g. Moderators will be added based one a 1/20 ratio (e.g. for every 20 new users, one moderator will be appointed). This rule may be dismissed if the Admin and Moderator Teams do not feel it is necessary for a new appointment based on board activity.

4. Community Authority

a. The community of users possess no direct power or decision-making authority over this board. However, all suggestions, requests, comments and concerns will be attended to within a timely fashion by a member of the Admin/Moderator Teams.
