Up and running once again!

1 mountainman 46 14 76.7% 1061 2500
2 rolltide 46 14 76.7% 1249 2300
3 Jason G 45 15 75% 1080 2250
4 ..fanaticjr 45 15 75% 1131 2250
5 MECU 41 19 68.3% 1279 2250
6 Spence 43 16 72.9% 1107 2150
7 ..fanatic 42 18 70% 1145 2100
8 RaliLlama 42 18 70% 1202 2100
9 Husker1 42 18 70% 1357 2100
10 bama_girl 42 17 71.2% 2103 2100

The far collumn records the points. MM is in first place, but rolltide, Jason G, ...fanatic jr, and MECU are trailing by a slim margin, and of course there's the rest of us guys jockying for position in week 4.

I think the hardest game this week to pick is probably Oklahoma State/Houston. I'm really torn on this. Houston is at home and almost on an equal level with OSU. OSU has looked very good so far this season; this is their first test. We know they can play well vs. Missouri State, Florida Atlantic, and Arkansas State, but how about a good team? OSU may be looking ahead to Big 12 play.

The other difficult one is USF and Kansas. USF has not looked impressive although we know how good they can be. Kansas is fresh off of a loss to Toledo, so we'll have to see how that affects their play.

i did really bad this week

i've been meaning to ask, why is my name at the bottom of the list too, all dark and italicized? it's kinda pissin me off!
every one can read the whole score column thing and line the names up however they want to, is it just because i didn't wanna pick scores or what? i've been picking a few lately just for the heck of it....what's the point?

It is so you can compare your totals to the group if your not on that page.

I was a little hesitant this week, but I switched my picks from Notre Dame and Houston to Michigan State and Okie State. My brain is telling me that Charlie Weis will be telling his team how embarassed they were against Michigan but my gut is telling me "Drew Stanton's gonna have a huge game against a depressed Notre Dame squad". I really don't know which one to listen to, but I think Notre Dame is going to win, but in case the best happens, I've got MSU on this board.

The OSU/Houston game is such a coin flip I don't even want to think about it. I'm taking the Cowboys.

I got the same feeling about Michigan State. It isn't the smart choice in this game, but I think Michigan State will pull out all the stops for Notre Dame. JL has turned this into a war, which may be his undoing, but I picked MSU also. I have been going back and forth ever since about changing it back, but I haven't yet.

Yep, John L. is a character. He's a goofy and an ardent person:

John L. Smith wrote:That's a daammmmng coaching mistake right there!!!......The kids are playing there hearts out, AND THE COACHES ARE SCREWING IT UP

The sad part, is the guy is real passionate about football (as you can tell by the quote) and I like the guy, but he doesn't teach his team discipline. They also can't keep their focus under him. This is a huge statement game for John L. and the boys.

You have to like his passion, but yeah, that is a good example of why he doesn't win.

In 2002 when Ohio State played Purdue, Ohio State got the field goal team on the field and kicked a field goal before the end of the half with 16 seconds remaining and no time outs. The leader of the team, the coach is responsible for making stuff like that happen. John L doesn't get that stuff done.

The percentage is important for those of us who did not get into it until week 2 or later.

Just keep plugging along, Derek :D

You know, you only missed one week right? I wouldn't suggest that it's impossible to work your way up the standings with a couple spectacular picking weeks.
