I don't know. It all depends on how much the Buckeye defense grows up between now and next week. Texas may stumble at some point this year, but Ohio State will have to go to Austin and take it from them to win. Texas will be ready to play ball when the Bucks roll into Austin.

What is the spread? Like 8 1/2?

I had heard 8 1/2 earlier this week on that game. The first games are the best to bet on, before the runners get a good feel for the teams.

I have 1000 on EVERY hogs game this season, plus 1000 on them wining the SECCG (that would pay 4.5:1), AND a 1000 on them winning the MNC (that would 52:1), GO HOGS.

If I put a grand on every Buckeye game and lost, I think it would call into question my loyalty. I don't bet on Ohio State very often. I have a hard time being objective about their chances. Besides I don't need any extra incentive for their games. I have been known to place a bet every now and again, but I don't usually bet more then $50.00 a game. If I get a few weeks into the season and I'm up, I may increase it a little, but I don't bet for profit, just to give me a rooting interest.

Are we talking real money, or CFP Bucks?

Real money in Vegas my friend. and Spence, do you REALLY need more reason to root for Ohio State? I just like betting, has nothing to do with my loyalty to my team. I have taken a bath the last 2 yrs but still bet the same amount.

No, that was what I was saying. I bet on other teams in other games, but I don't bet on Ohio State very often. I did put some cash on the 2002-03 championship game with Miami. The spread was 14 points and I new better then that. I knew the Buckeye D would keep it close so I put some down on that game.
