Was going to make a smartalecky comment but, have learned to hold back until I WIN!!!!!!!! LOL

Notre Dame over Nevada -14
Texas over La Monroe -41
South Carolina over NC St. + 3 1/2
The preceding statements are solely the opinion of GoBoilers and are, therefore, probably not based whatsoever on fact, research or more time in thought than what was required to physically type them. They're probably correct anyway, so you shouldn't argue too much, because otherwise he'll just blather on forever. On the internet Al Gore invented.

1) Missouri (+7) -v- Illinois
2) W. Michigan (+12.5) -v- Michigan
3) Tulsa (-13.5) -v- Tulane
4) Maryland (+21) -v- California
5) C. Michigan (+13) -v- Arizona

{I also like Georgia, Colorad St., N. Illinois, Oregon, and FSU against the spread. Big East has only 1 real game this week....I like Rutgers in that one.}

Clemson (-20) over Middle Tennessee
UConn (-4.5) over Ohio
Kentucky (-14) over Miami (OH)

and even though I was hard pressed to find one I wanted to pick an underdog that covers so I'll go with

Washington State (+16 ) against Stanford

Lots of chalk!

There are no "Chalks" when picking with the point spreads. You did pick all "Favorites" though. Most people will pick more favorites than underdogs, and I think that may be why most people struggle when picking versus the spreads.

Cincinnati +6.5

BYU +21.5

South Carolina +3.5

Virginia Tech +6.5

There are some underdogs for you. The point of spreads is to make it so that every team has a 50/50 chance of covering or not covering the spread. Therefore my four underdogs have just as much chance as anybodies four favorites would.

I am pretty sure that is not why there is a spread...."A point spread evens out the market towards an equal number of bettors on each side of the wager. This allows a bookmaker to make a market by accepting wagers on both sides of the spread. The bookmaker charges a commission and acts as the counterparty for each participant. As long as the size of wagers on each side is roughly equal, the bookmaker is unconcerned with the actual outcome; profits instead come from the commissions."

I know we have had this discussion before but good we do not deceive ourselves.Mr. Billybud can probably explain it better

I think my source was off.

Virginia Tech
Spread +6.5
Payout +220

The article I read about betting stated that the spread was used to even an underdog with a better caliber team evening the odds of either side winning. The payout was to entice betters to bet one way or the other. If you guys have a good source of information or know where the discussion you guys had about this is I would appreciate the assistance and the knowledge.
