Basketball Wagers

Postby ..fanaticjr » Sun Dec 03, 2006 9:20 pm

If you would like to place a wager on the college basketball picks then here's the place. To make a wager just do it the same way as you do for the football picks. Enjoy!

Bets

Postby BYUfan1 » Tue Dec 05, 2006 6:33 pm

Soorry fanatic jr for messing things up already, but I did not realize you had set up a special area. I have a bet with Husker1 for 50 CFP bucks on the Nebraska-Oregon game on Saturday with me taking Oregon. I offered him the bet from the fantasy picks page, and he accepted thru an email. I'm not sure that will transfer the bucks automatically, but I guess we will figure it out if it does.

I think it sends a PM asking the loser if it is OK to tranfer the money. When he picks yes, it transfers. I haven't tried it, but someone was telling me that it worked that way during the football wagers on the fantasy sports page.

Bets

Postby BYUfan1 » Wed Dec 06, 2006 2:54 pm

Not meaning to show that Spence is wrong, but I think I figured this betting thing out. When you offer a bet to someone, the amount of bucks offfered in the bet come out immediately out of both accounts. That would make since otherwise you could place bet with bucks you didn't have. If the person refuses the bet, the bucks go back into both accounts. I have to wait until the games this weekend are over, but I assume the winner gets his bucks back and nothing happens to the loser since the bucks were taken out when the bet was offered.

I have a question on the basketball picks. Behind each team are numbers in parenthesis....what are they....if it is part of an illuminatti code...I do not know the secret handshake.

The Numbers

Postby BYUfan1 » Sat Dec 09, 2006 1:31 pm

I believe the numbers are a carry over from the football picks. I am quite sure those numbers are the records of the teams when they have been chosen as one of the football picks.

Gonzaga vs. Washington

Postby BYUfan1 » Sat Dec 09, 2006 1:37 pm

Anyone thinking that Washington will end Gonzaga's home winning streak tonight? I would be glad to take your CFP bucks because Gonzaga will win tonight.

I believe that is correct. The those are the records of the teams (football and B-ball), how they have done when being part of the picks game.

Betting Program

Postby BYUfan1 » Sun Dec 10, 2006 4:48 am

Back to the betting program, it seems to work well on its own. On the bet with Husker1, I got my 50 bucks back plus the 50 from husker1. So fantaticjr, you don't have to do anything.

WF Over VT

Postby BYUfan1 » Sat Dec 16, 2006 1:56 pm

I would love to take 50 CFP bucks from anyone who is picking Virginia Tech over Wake Forest Sunday. I'm thinking some of that football magic dust will rub off on the basketball team.

Anybody want Michigan against Purdue in basketball today for 50 bucks? I'll take the always good at home Boilermakers.

WVU

Postby BYUfan1 » Sat Jan 13, 2007 8:41 am

Will any West Virginia fan stand up and bet 100 bucks on the WVU-Marquette game. I get the Warriors, I mean the Golden Eagles. Anyway, they are Marquette!
