Saturday, October 7th

(1.) Texas State
(2.) Texas…….. my head says Texas, but I have doubts about the Longhorns, they’ve just simply shown nothing but mediocrity since WVU joined the BIGXII…. just something about that bunch.
(3.) LSU…… if they show up they can win, but will they show up?????
(4.) Wisconsin
(5.) NC State…… the Wolfpack benched their starting QB, we’ll see. I’m pulling for you Little Bro!!!!!
(6.) UCLA
(7.) Alabama……. Jimbo is going to have to show me.
(8.) North Carolina….. I see where Mac Brown won his argument with the NCAA
(9.) Iowa
(10.) Navy
(11.) Eastern Michigan
(12.) Northern Illinois
(13.) Kansas
(14.) Troy
(15.) Colorado……. Prime Time knows exactly what he’s doing, and knows at the same time he’s putting a target on his team.
(16.) Georgia
(17.) South Alabama
(18.) Notre Dame….,. Good looking bunch in South Bend
(19.) Fresno State
(20.) Texas Tech……. Starting QB suffered a broken leg in the WVU game, we’ll see.

…….Shootouts and Showdowns, I believe at one time both these games were called ‘Shootouts’. But someone complained that “shootout” was promoting violence.
I suspect whoever complained has never lined-up along a line of scrimmage.

Saturday, October 7th

(1.) Louisiana --- [their defense looks a bit better]
(2.) Texas --- [at least, I think so, for now]
(3.) LSU --- [they better win, or the SEC will flip on its ear]
(4.) Wisconsin --- [I think Camp Randall will be too much of an environment for Rutgers]
(5.) Marshall --- [oh, why not ..?]
(6.) Washington State --- [though, this could be like poking a wounded animal]
(7.) Texas A&M --- [I mean, it's possible]
(8.) North Carolina --- [I keep hearing these guys are the second favorite for the ACC]
(9.) Iowa --- [Hawkeyes will be playing with aggression after last week]
(10.) Navy --- [if you can control the clock, and what not]
(11.) Eastern Michigan --- [where's Eric at to tell us all about the MAC .?.]
(12.) Akron --- [they seem to scrap a little more than the other guys]
(13.) Kansas --- [I'm thinking less of them both, every week]
(14.) Troy --- [I've taken them, and I'm settling]
(15.) Colorado --- [aaaaaaaaaaaaah-ye don't know]
(16.) Georgia --- [after last week, I'm not so sure]
(17.) UL Monroe --- [they've both played decent & poor ... so, Home Team]
(18.) Notre Dame --- [they took down Duke at home]
(19.) Fresno State --- [I think they're rather good]
(20.) Baylor --- [they suddenly woke up at the end of the 3rd quarter last week]

Our golf season came to an end a week early this year. We were 4th in the district. No trip to the state. I can finally focus on football.

It was called both, the Shootout and the Showdown ...

espn Disneyied it to be called Red River Rivalry because the annotation was too idealistic of a reference to nutjobs who enact mass shootings.

It makes the feelgooder feel good about their virtue, the same way they feel good about changing the name of the Oregon/Oregon St "Civil War", to the "Oregon Classic" or the "State Championship Game", and the Georgia/florida "Worlds Largest Out Door Cocktail Party", to the "Florida–Georgia game" or "Georgia–Florida game", or even as the "War for the Oar" --- irregardless the rest of us who go on to use the traditional names.

Fake Virtue only receives accolades from Fake Sources.

And they continue on doing so, even though the general audience rejects their rhetoric.

Seems there’s a lot of that ‘Fake Virtue’ going around, accompanied by those ‘Fake Sources’…… I think they maybe they’re related like what we call ‘kinfolk’ here in the Hills and Hollers. I watched a symposium about it on CSPAN a week or so ago where a panel of brain experts were discussing the phenomenon. They defined it as “The Empty Space Between Some People’s Ears”, or TESBSPE.
