LSU and Ark...becoming good rivalry...

Postby Dossenator » Sun Nov 25, 2007 12:37 am

Ark a few years ago with Matt Jones at QB came back and beat LSU and won the SEC West......

Last year, Ark was 10-1 and ranked #5 and had the SEC West title all ready won....then LSU comes to Ark and wins.

Yesterday, LSU was 10-1 and ranked #1 and have the SEC West title....the Ark goes to Baton Rouge and wins the game.

That is how rivalries are born....Ark has the Boot trophy for the next year. Great win...

Here is why McFadden's pefromance was so good in the game yesterday: Les Miles said ``Certainly, he had a Heisman performance today,'' LSU coach Les Miles said. ``Right now, there's a goal of our football team taken off the board and it's sad. ... Tonight, we'll be sick.'' Miles said he thought he had a good plan for the ``Wild Hog'' formation, with two defenders shadowing McFadden. LSU linebacker Ali Highsmith did his best, making 15 tackles. ``There's a point where I thought we were going to defend that thing pretty well,'' Miles said. ``There were two pretty good LSU tacklers ready to tackle that guy and he didn't go down. It definitely affected us.''

Even with 2 players whose job was to follow McFadden where ever he went....McFadden still rushed for 206 yards, 3 rushing TD's, and 1 passing TD.

Good win for the Hogs and a pretty good rivalry forming with the Tigers!
"A team with something to play for is dangerous, but a team with someone to play for is unstoppable..." Arkansas OL Brey Cook quote following the death of teammate Garrett Uekman (Nov. 2011).
